OCT examination is a non-contact imaging procedure that uses light waves to produce high-resolution cross-sectional images of the retina, optic nerve head, and other important fundus structures.
Ophthalmic ultrasound uses sound waves to image the internal parts of the eyeball, such as the vitreous, retina, or posterior pole. It is especially useful when the interior of the eye cannot be assessed by other means.
Fundus camera imaging is a modern, painless ophthalmic examination that captures high-resolution images of the fundus, enabling detailed analysis of the posterior segment of the eye.
Everyone can quickly learn the correct use of contact lenses with the guidance of our specialists.
At Onome Optics, virtually any type of glasses can be made after our ophthalmologist determines the corrective values needed for perfect vision through a thorough, comprehensive eye examination.
The purpose of sunglasses is to protect our eyes from harmful UV rays. UV radiation is also an important risk factor in the development of macular degeneration and cataracts.
Colour vision and colour blindness testing, driving licence medical examinations, and assessment of other eye conditions.
Thanks to continuous research and development, our eyewear is becoming ever more refined and comfortable. At the same time, its growing value calls for increased attention to proper care.
At Onome Optics you can find any eyewear accessory to complement your glasses. Cases, cords and chains.
Many people have experienced eye pain, fatigue, burning, stinging, or itching after prolonged computer use. Vision becomes blurred, letters run together, and double images may occasionally appear. Computer glasses can prevent, or at least significantly reduce, these symptoms. They are therefore recommended for anyone who regularly spends extended periods in front of a computer screen - regardless of whether they normally wear glasses. Those who already need reading glasses also require the appropriate dioptric correction for screen use. Reading glasses are not suitable for this purpose, as they provide sharp vision at around 40 cm, whereas a monitor is typically 80-100 cm from the eyes. Computer glasses feature a special contrast-enhancing, lightly tinted coating that reduces eye strain. Compared to clear lenses, tinted lenses absorb a higher percentage of UV radiation. Some lenses are lighter at the lower (keyboard) portion to make typing easier. In addition, both surfaces of the lens are coated with an anti-reflective layer, which rests the eyes.
The human eye can adjust to varying viewing distances (accommodation) up to around the age of 40-45. After this, this ability gradually diminishes, and near work such as reading becomes difficult to focus on clearly. The lens of the eye can no longer curve sufficiently to allow close-up focusing. This is presbyopia, or age-related farsightedness. The first sign of presbyopia is typically noticing that ordinary-sized text needs to be held further away to be readable than the length of one's arms allows. It is primarily treated with glasses or contact lenses, though surgical correction is also an option.
Thanks to the anaesthetic eye drops used during cataract surgery, the procedure is not painful - at most it may cause some minor discomfort.
This depends primarily on the type of intraocular lens chosen. Most patients do not need glasses or contact lenses for distance vision after cataract surgery. A conventional monofocal lens has a single focal point; these lenses most commonly restore distance vision, but glasses are still required for reading and close-up tasks. If an AcrySof® ReSTOR® lens is implanted, it is highly likely that glasses will not be needed at all - even for reading. In clinical trials, four out of five patients who received an AcrySof® ReSTOR® lens never needed glasses for any activity, whether near, far, or intermediate distance.
In general, patients see well enough to drive as early as the day after surgery. Of course this varies considerably between individuals, but most patients are typically able to perform everyday activities such as reading or watching TV by the following day, and are fit to return to work approximately 2-7 days after the operation. Strenuous activities should be avoided for several weeks.
No - once a cataract has been removed it cannot return. However, some patients may experience a slight deterioration in vision after surgery. This condition, known as posterior capsule opacification or secondary cataract, can occur with any type of intraocular lens. Secondary cataract can be treated with a simple laser procedure.
